Joanne Samis

Joanne (commonly known as "Jo Jo") as First Vice-President (1st VP) plays a key leadership role within a Royal Canadian Legion branch, supporting the President in the overall administration and governance of the branch and helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
In addition to executive responsibilities, Joanne provides direct oversight of the bar and Ways and Means activities, helping to guide their operation, financial performance, and compliance with branch policies. This includes supporting scheduling, coordination, and decision-making related to bar services and fundraising initiatives, while working closely with volunteers and committee members to ensure these areas run efficiently and contribute to the branch’s sustainability.
The First Vice-President also acts as a senior advisor within the executive team, assisting with planning, member engagement, and event coordination, and stepping in for the President when required. Overall, the role is central to both operational leadership and supporting the branch’s financial and community-focused initiatives.
